Your brand reputation is now as important as ever
A competitive retail environment has resulted in the modern-day consumer being spoilt for choice! Whether that's deciding what next car they're going to buy, what restaurant they would like to eat at or which optician to have their eyes tested at. The consumers buying power is strong, and it is up to brands to remain competitive and relevant.
Obviously, there are a lot of ways to do this. Dependent on where you see yourself in your marketplace, you can offer a unique service, stock niche products, provide real value for money or position yourself as the best-in-class when it comes to clinical care.
Regardless of what type of optician you are, the one thing every optician needs is a strong, trustworthy and positive reputation.


It is estimated that consumers will read up to 10 product or service reviews before making a purchasing decision. This means that potential new patients to your practice more than likely viewed your Google Reviews & patient testimonials. This is known as EWOM (Electronic Word of Mouth).
Before the internet boom, the alternative to this would be friends asking each other "Hey, that opticians you go to, are they any good?". This is known as WOM (Word of Mouth) and for an independent business that does not have a marketing budget like the multiples, it is crucially important.
Regardless of whether people are recommending you online or offline, they are ultimately increasing your brand reputation which can result in more patients visiting your practice.
To help you improve your reputation, we advise you to increase your Google reviews and shout out on social media about the patient feedback you receive (positive ones, of course).
