How I support the Practices

I am responsible for leading the people team (HR in old money!) You can hold me accountable for the People Team delivering an excellent service to you and your teams, whether that is for HR guidance, recruitment support & of course for paying you accurately and on time! I welcome feedback and will always aim to deliver on my promises.

A fact about me that is not work related
Vanilla is my favourite ice-cream flavour (unless rum & raison is available) but honestly, I'm that boring!! my obsession outside of work is my family, I’m married with two daughters, Erin & Grace and we have a cockapoo called Milo, who is a very spoiled dog!

How I support the practices...

Working closely between different teams, I can support practices with their Recruitment issues, their HR issues or their Payroll issues.

A fact about me that is not work related.....

I dabble in kickboxing/MMA tournaments whilst also coaching self-defence and a variety of martial arts/boxing to kids and young adults in Blackburn, Burnley and Nelson.

How I support the practices.......

I work within the People services team and assist with Payroll when necessary. I am also responsible for making sure all your HQ expenses are checked and sent for processing every month! I work closely with practices & buddies to ensure all your issues and queries are settled. This could be anything from sending an offer of employment out, to answering questions further into your employment!

A fact about me that’s not work related ...........

My favourite thing to do is travel! Last summer I spent 2 months travelling different islands in Greece and Spain! I love socialising, trying new restaurants and exploring the lakes.

How I support the practices........

As part of the Hakim Group People Team, I support all people related themes including recruitment, training, engaging and the retention of great people across our network of practices. I enjoy working with people ensuring HR related issues are understood and supported

A fact about me that is not work related.........

When I’m not at work I enjoy the great outdoors whether that’s hiking or cycling and I’m a keen snowboarder.  I’m married to Lynne, and we have two daughters who are now grown up.  Lucy is currently working for us in the HR team!  Lynne is from Cork, so we spend a lot of time in the Republic of Ireland which is a great place to explore for people who love being outside (and the rain!).

I love food! My new years resolution for this year is to be a sushi master!

My aim is to enable everyone to reach their full potential by implementing HR practices and that are accessible to all. I love making connections with the practices and having a good chat to consider the best solutions for all. Feel free to call me with any queries you may have!

A fact about me that is not work related...........

I am an honorary Lancashire lass but true Yorkshire at heart. I often travel across the border to visit my family and would love to do a road trip across the south coast of Spain. I live with my husband Yasin who is a graphic designer and runs his own printing business and my daughter Ameerah who is just starting school.

Working with the HR Team to build, facilitate and engage a high-performing and fulfilling company culture and working environment for all our employees.  To also develop and implement HR policies, procedures and initiatives that align with the strategic goals of the organisation.

A fact about me that’s not work-related........

I am a real country bumpkin and absolutely love animals (I think this comes from being a farmer’s daughter) – I have a Cockapoo called Teddy….aptly named as he really does look like a teddy bear.

I work in our People team as a People Partner, we work closely with practices and buddies to advise and support with any people related issues. We focus on supporting on all aspects of the employee cycle, ensuring we are offering the best service we can to our practices.

I like to spend my weekends eating at new restaurants and going for walks.

As part of the people team, I support both HR and Payroll to ensure everything runs smoothly.

A fact about me that is not work related....

I have recently moved to the UK from Hong Kong. When I am not working, I love watching Netflix and listening to music, but my biggest passion is travelling.

How I support the practices.....

I split my time between the HR team and Payroll. This means for certain times of the month; I support people with employment related queries whilst other times of the month I support the payroll team to ensure that everyone in Hakim Group gets paid correctly.

When I am not working, I spend most of my spare time playing hockey on a national level for Pendle Hockey Club

How I support the practices.....

I help to support the practices from the offer stage of employment right through until they start in practice. I am here to advise the practices on anything that they are unsure of so that they can operate their businesses nationwide.
